Developing a Strategic Communication Plan for Pagtanaw 2050

Dates of Implementation/Duration:  30 March 2026 to 28 August 2026

Partner Institution: Department of Science and Technology and National Academy of Science and Technology

About the Project: Funded by the DOST and National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), the project aims to develop a strategic communication plan (SCP) to deliver consistent, coordinated, and targeted messaging about the PAGTANAW 2050. Guided by the duly approved DOST Science Communication Agenda (2023-2028), the DOST Strategy Framework (2023-2028), and the results of the ongoing DOST-UPLB College of Development Communication (CDC) Project, “Science for the People: Towards a Harmonized Science Communication Framework”, the project will make use of quantitative and qualitative methods to develop the SCP. Triangulation shall be employed by involving all key persons and institutions in developing and implementing the communication strategies including but not limited to the NAST secretariat, program leaders and staff in charge, DOST communication units, DOST-STII, and the Media Core.

The harmonized science communication framework advocates monitoring and evaluation as a standard part of science communication activities which will help in achieving the project’s third objective which is to establish a monitoring and evaluation framework for the implementation of the strategic communication plan.

The project outputs, specifically the strategic communication plan, will not only be guided by the said framework but will also serve as an input to the messaging of a larger communication plan. The project deals with strategies for integrating and cascading the information and messages contained within the PAGTANAW 2050 vision and intends to incorporate the communications plan of STII into the larger strategic plan of DOST.
